Text description provided by the architects. Where is the end, the beginning or the middle of the world? This is basically a question of perspective. Does the valley end in Galtür or does it actually begin exactly there? The new permanent exhibition "At the top" at the Alpinarium Galtür is focusing on the position of Galtür in relation to the rest of the world.
The exciting exhibition, curated and created by Holzer Kobler Architekturen, highlights different interpretations based on cultural, historical, philosophical and artistic perspectives within 5 individually designed spheres.
Examining different meanings of terms such as "beginning and end", "at the top and at the bottom", "people and mountains" the relations between Galtür and the rest of the world are illustrated. Many different perspectives – historical, spacial, internal, external, scientific and artistic - as well as new and old tracks are being uncovered.
This new openness can also be experienced before even entering the exhibition: intriguing tracks and circular cut outs on the facade invite people to actively exchange between the interior and the exterior.
